Transcend Online Store Privacy Statement

This is the privacy statement for all web sites operated by Transcend Information, Inc. Transcend would like to demonstrate its commitment to your privacy, therefore we have agreed to disclose our information practices. We will never share your email address, phone number or credit card information with any unrelated third party unless it is necessary to fulfill transactions that you have initiated.

Information Provided by you:

Transcend Information, Inc. collects any information that you enter into our Web site. This information is normally provided when you search for merchandise, buy a product, register for a contest, or when you communicate with any of our departments such as customer service, sales, technical support, returns and exchange, webmaster, open accounts, government sales or add missing product through our Web site, telephone, mail or fax. You also provide information when you establish an account with us. Examples of the type of information you may supply us would include your name, address, telephone number, credit card information, your e-mail address, credit references and financial information.


Order Entry:
We request information from the user on our order form. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) along with financial information (like a billing address, credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fulfill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user.

Credit Card companies and shippers:
When you buy something from Transcend we send your credit card information, name, billing address and purchase amount to your credit card company to verify and authorize the purchase. Your name, telephone number and shipping information must be provided to third party shippers such as UPS and Federal Express to deliver your purchase. There also may be instances in which we drop-ship orders directly to you from one of our manufacturers or suppliers. These drop-shippers are only given your name, postal address, and telephone number for the sole purpose of fulfilling your order.

We will share aggregate demographic information with our partners and advertisers. We do not share any personal information that can identify an individual person.

Links to third party Web sites:
This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Transcend Information, Inc. are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites. LOG FILES
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personal information.

SECURITY
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, the information is protected both online and off-line. Your name, your personal information and especially your credit card number are NEVER stored on the Internet with our system. Once your information is entered, it is sent directly to our order processing system, which is on a server separate from the internet and encrypted.

When our order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'. We have an SSL certificate from Thawte.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personal information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to your information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up to date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy and what they can do to ensure our customers' information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personal information on are kept in a secure environment, behind a locked door.
